Monel K500 is an age-hardened variant of Monel 400, which consists mainly of 63% nickel and 30% copper with additions of aluminum and titanium for precipitation hardening. It has much greater mechanical strength and hardness compared to Monel 400. Mechanical properties are tensile strength of up to 960 MPa, yield strength of 690 MPa, and elongation of 20%. It has very good corrosion resistance, especially in marine and chemical services, and offers superior mechanical performance under high pressure and stress environments.
